This blog is about this single photo. A moment from a day I will remember forever.

It’s not a great photo, or even a good one at that. It’s blurry from bumping around on the tuk tuk and was taken with my phone instead of a fancy camera. But it is perfect because it could not have captured the moment any better. I took this photo as we were heading home from the lake last Saturday. It was our team leader Corbyn’s birthday and we got to celebrate her all day, so much fun!

After hours of hanging out on our little dock at the lake we made our way home. As we were driving I turned around as saw one of the most magnificent sunsets I’ve ever seen. Admiring God in nature is something so easy for me, when He paints the sky it is easy to feel incredibly close to Him. Every morning and every night here it is just an another amazing testimony of His greatness. How can you look at a sunset and not be in awe of our creator? I have witnessed some of the most insanely beautiful sunrises and sunsets in Cambodia, God must think it’s pretty special place to bless them with it every morning and night.

Anyways, what that tuk tuk ride home brought me was an undeniable peace within. Watching the sunset squeezed next to my new family while passing sweet smiling faces on the way home gave me a new perspective. It is in moments like that I believe God gives me His eyes for the world. I am able to see things in such a sweet way, everything golden, beautiful creations everywhere you look. I’m holding these times close to my heart because I don’t have this perspective 24/7. To be honest I wrote this blog about 3 weeks ago but just found it in my notes when I forgot to post it. If you read my last blog, ‘A Glimpse’, this is a perfect example of a glimpse in my first month on the race. A time where the kingdom’s fruit is SO evident. God is too sweet, He gives us experiences like this and brings us close in them. A time where doubt or fear doesn’t exist and you feel like you’re being wrapped in a giant hug.

I’m constantly seeking for more hugs, whether that be in a sunset, someone’s smile, or something in the word that makes me feel incredibly close to the Father. Cambodia has a special place in His heart and the love here is overflowing. I hope everyone back home can see that. That Cambodia is a country, even though still affected by an awful genocide, is a place where love is everywhere and is spreading fast. I love sharing these sweet times and hope these blogs can spread the love witnessed here further than anyone believes it could go.
