This blog is a long time coming. It’s insane to think that I met these people 10 months ago. I’m glad I waited to write this because they’re not just my teammates anymore, we’re family. For real, we’ve been through so much in these past 8 months and have grown close in all of it. It hasn’t always been easy, actually most days are tough but I can always rely on each and every one of them. They’ve taught me a lot about myself and God and I love them for that! I meant to write this blog after training camp but never got to it, so the first picture is from training camp and the second is a recent picture!
Alyssa- This girl whether she sees it or not has changed dramatically since we met her. It’s incredible to have gotten to go on this journey with you shalyss. (Also we call her Shalyssa, never Alyssa) She walks in so much humility, super self aware to her own reactions and everything going on around her. An amazing poet and writer she inspires those around her with how she sees the world and beautifully puts that on paper. The Lord has so much favor upon Alyssa and I feel honored to get to know her and see her grow so much.
Eliza- a wild child! Eliza is someone that can make any situation fun and make the whole room laugh. While she brightens everyone’s day she also walks in a lot of wisdom and understanding. Eliza is a model of perseverance. She is tough and goes through situations with her head held high, continually seeking for knowledge and new perspectives. Her experiences are shaping her into an amazing person who walks so well in her identity. Eliza, I’m so glad to call you a friend, you’re one I can always rely on.
Josie- a free spirit. She’s truly the life of the party and can turn any mundane moment into a party in the matter of a second. She’s walked through hard times on the race and has clung onto her faith through all of it. She has an adventurous spirit that is contagious and wisdom oozes out of her. Josie, you’re wild and elegant, a light to those around you.
Steph- Steph is someone who is completely reliable and trustworthy. A friend that you turn to in all situations. A safe place with so much wisdom and knowledge you run to to gain new perspectives. Her testimony is powerful and she touches the hearts of everyone she meets. Steph, I don’t know what I would do without you!
Moriah- a friend, leader, and overall hype man! Moriah is quick to lend a helping hand and encourage those around her. She has one of the most caring hearts I’ve ever met and comes alongside of everyone in their struggles. She loves big and it’s obvious to everyone around her that Jesus lives inside of her. She speaks out what the Lord is telling her and it lifts the body up in ways you can’t even imagine. Moriah, I love being your teammate and getting to see you grow in insane ways, thanks for loving me so well!
So those are my amazing teammates! This is only a little piece of each of them. I can’t express how much they truly mean to me. They have all shaped me into who I am now I don’t have words to thank them. The Lord knew exactly what he was doing when he placed them in my life. That doesn’t mean it’s always easy, we’re family and we fight, but the love we have for each other is evident over all of it. Kaleo means an invitation or a calling and these girls are the true meaning of that. Inviting myself and everyone around them into the crazy incredible plan God has for all of us. I love you crazy people SO much and will always treasure these times I got to spend with you!
