First week of ministry is done and I’m officially 11 days into my world race. YESSSS SO MUCH YESSS. it all started off arriving in Punta Cana, a 7hour bus drive from where our ministry host is located.

Arrived at Hope Mountain at around 11 so when getting situated I had no idea of the view we had

Speechless.

Our fist day of ministry was property, good ole manual labor. We had that two days in a row and it consisted of cleaning the damage hurricane Irma made.

We did prayer walks around the community, which was my personal favorite:))

And we were scheduled to do children’s ministry in a school but because of hurricane Maria the schools are all closed at the moment.

Speaking of hurricane Mariaaaaa I wanna share something with you guys. So just over a year ago my abuela María passed away, I was seriously devastated because she was like my second mom when I would visit Puerto Rico all the time. So I figured if the Dominican Republic was so close to Puerto Rico then they must be insanely similar. So one of my only goals for this month was to find a lady here that reminded me of my abuela María. It wasn’t until 3 nights ago that Elva sat down to talk to me because I was crying while I was on the phone talking to my mom. Elva asked why I was trying and totally comforted me. She then left and said she would be back. Much later she called me in the house and made me grilled cheese. And it hit me, she is the one. I sat her down and told her that I prayed to the Lord that I would find someone here in the D.R. that reminded me so much of my abuela and that that person is her. I cried and she hugged me.

Here is Elva. We took about 14 photos because every time she would say to take another because she wanted to put more makeup on regardless of how beautiful I told her she looks. She is hilarious.

Later that night some one told me about how there’s another hurricane coming our way. I replied saying yea yea I know Jose is just passing through and they said no there’s another one. She told me it’s hurricane Maria and I was SHOOK. like what the heck, that is SO COOL.

We are in the midst of hurricane Maria at the moment. All is well just some leaky roofs and random wind gusts and generator power 🙂

Gosh we had worship last night and Ashley closed us in prayer and the pointed out that God calmed the storm the entire time we worshiped ,HOW AMAZING.

it’s seriously such a privilege to serve a God that splits the sea and calms the storm and created the light. And the fact that He is more than capable of doing everything, He still chooses to use us to do His will. That’s wild for me to even think about.

God bless and more cool stories coming your way. PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO MY BLOG:))
