I’ve officially been in Ecuador for a week now, and needless to say I’m loving it! My whole squad of 34 people and I are staying in a cute little white house on the north end of Quito with the BEST host parents, Made and Fabi, and their baby AlegrÍa. We spent the first couple days here settling in and (kinda) adjusting to the altitude and atmosphere here (we went from being right on the ocean in Jeffrey’s Bay to being at 10,000 feet up in Quito). After a little bit of rest, we jumped straight into ministry on Monday! In order to get to our ministry we start walking at around 8AM to the bus station 10 minutes away, hop on a crowded bus for a 30 minute ride further into the city (the daily experience on Ecuadorian public transportation is like nothing else, trust me), and then walk another 10 minutes to arrive at ministry.

Our ministry for these next 3 months is called Pan de Vida! Their website is http://pandevida.org.ec/ if you want to read more about it! We spent this week organizing clothes that were donated, wrapping hundreds of Christmas presents and doing random cleaning tasks! Pan de Vida has feeding programs for hundreds of Ecuadorians and Venezuelan refugees every Wednesday, so this past Wednesday we got to help with that and be in charge of all of the kids that came, doing a craft and Bible story with them, and this Sunday we’re gonna spend the morning handing out donations to over 600 people in need!

Overall, the weather is perfect, the mountains are beautiful, and I’m so excited to see what these next 3 months have to offer. I’ll write more about ministry once we dive deeper into it, but for now here’s a little update on how life is going! Thanks for reading!
