“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” ??2 Corinthians? ?3:17?

We only have about 2 weeks left here! What! I’m not sure how it happened, but time is flying by, and i’ve started to do a lot of reflecting of what this country and season has meant to me.

Something the Lord has been walking me through recently in Ecuador is what it means to be free. Typically, our worldly view of freedom says that we are not tied down to anything. It’s physically being able to do what you want, when you want. But there’s so much more to freedom than that.

Often, today, we are enslaved to things in our own mind more often than we think or admit. Whether it’s insecurities, or worries about the future, or past struggles, it’s usually our own minds that have us chained down rather than anything physical.

Something the Lord has been showing me, not only in Ecuador, but throughout the whole Race, is that nothing in my mind, no doubt or internal struggles, have ANY power over the redemption of the cross, and over when Jesus said “It is finished”. When we give up our lives and say “yes” to Jesus, we are giving up our worldly desires and submitting to His will instead. From an earthly view, fully surrendering your life to someone sounds like slavery. It sounds like being chained down to something. But in the upside down kingdom of Jesus, fully submitting to the Father’s authority is where full freedom is found. When we live by truth and in prayer for our wills and desires to be completely aligned with His, we begin to live in the fact that His great love and sacrifice is all the freedom we could ever need.  And nothing on this earth has power over that.

His Spirit lives within us and is always working through us, and being filled by the Spirit and living according to it is where we are the most free.

“Fear has no place

Doubt has no place

Hurt has no place

Insecurity has no place

In the presence of the Father.”

Because the presence of the Father is the dwelling place for ultimate and complete freedom.

Prayer requests::

  • my parents come to Ecuador in less than a week to do ministry along side me and see what this life is like, so prayers for safe travel and a week overflowing with the presence of the Holy Spirit would be great!
  • also a week after that we head to Cambodia so prayers for peace and safety during this upcoming transition would also be appreciated!

Thanks for reading!
