I come to you with good news of great joy… I AM FULLY FUNDED!!!
This post goes out to all of my supporters, from the time I was accepted onto the Race in November of 2013 until now: THANK YOU.
Fundraising was not an easy process for me. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not actually that fun to ask people for money, however noble your goal might be. I had many moments of doubt when I thought of the number ($16,254) and how I could never ever possibly fundraise enough to meet that goal. But I prayed, He answered, and you gave. And for this I am forever grateful.
Whether it was my very first supporter (thanks, cousin Steve!) or that anonymous $20 or the monthly faithfulness from my mentor in Nappanee, God never ceased to surprise me in the ways He provided for me to get here. Friends from camp, old neighbors, my sister’s basketball coach, my old crew coach… the list goes on. I had no idea where my funds would come from but He did. It seems silly now to think back on the nights I was so stressed that I would never meet my next deadline, when all I had to do was rest in Him and His promise that He would provide.
So thank you. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for giving me the chance to see the Gospel lived out from Guatemala to Albania. Thank you for stewarding your money to be able to support me on this year long adventure. I take seriously what you’ve commissioned me to do by supporting my World Race: to make disciples of all nations.
So “gracias” from Guatemala and Nicaragua; “salamat” from the Philippines; “kopkun” from Thailand; “awkhun” from Cambodia; “dhanyavaad” from Nepal and India; “Ke a leboga, rra” from Botswana; “Ngiyabonga” from Swaziland; “Diakuiu” from Ukraine; and “falemnderit” from Albania.
As a treat, you can check out my latest highlight video, which covers the past week we’ve spent at debrief in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I hope you enjoy!
Forever His (and forever grateful),
Grace
