So we were in Manzini buying some groceries about to go to the places we are staying, when we found out that Lionheart cannot go to the hut anymore. So they needed to stay in the AIM house with Beautiful Exchange and the Dream Team.
This change of plans was really difficult to deal with at first. A lot of us were really excited to have only two teams staying together. And most of Lionheart’s members were really excited about staying at the hut.
So we weren’t off to the best start. And it was holiday/break time when we arrived, so schools and care points were not open yet. Ministry still needed to be worked out.
So we ended up doing some prayer walks and Ask The Lord (ATL) ministry around Manzini. Not my favorite, but I think it’s good and important. Especially so due to the fact that when we get back home most of us won’t have scheduled ministry all the time. So it’s good for us to have to find our own ministry and ask God what he wants us to do and also for opportunities where they seem to be none. So it’s good, but it can be difficult.
Now we have different ministry groups. There’s sports ministry, hospital ministry, administration in the office, agricultural work, prayer/ATL ministry, and carepoint ministry. I am part of the hospital ministry group.
Part of this group goes to Hope House, a hospice house/nursing home/recovery center place thing, 9:00am-11:30am on Tues, Thurs, and Fri. On Tuesdays and Thursday we go visit the same person. The person I’ve been visiting is Dave. He’s from Scotland. He’s very interesting. Anyway on Friday we have a little service. We’ve only done it once so far. But we sang some worship songs, one person read scripture and we played a little game of bowling. It was so fun!
As you may have noticed this leaves a lot of time to do prayer/ATL ministry, go to the carepoint closest to us (it’s the one I’ve been to most, lucky me ;), rest, and serve around the house-office.
Also a lot of us have decided to fast one day a week, and then use the food budget money we didn’t spend to give food to people who really need it. We’ve done it once so far. It went well. I was hungry tho. I ended up buying some snacks to have in the evening. It happens.
Our official off day is Saturday. On Sundays myself and some others have gone to Living Waters Church of the Nazarene. I like it a bunch.
I hope y’all feel very updated. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about what we’re doing or how I am or what have you in the comments.
Thanks for reading. Much love! 🙂
