Hey!
Sorry I have not been blogged since before Training Camp. I’ve just been so busy processing Training Camp, preparing for the trip, and spending time with my loved ones before I leave.
I want to thank everyone who helped spread the word about and participated in the Qdoba fundraiser yesterday. THANK YOU! I will announce the amount we raised as soon as I know.
Speaking of money raised, we have raised $11,872.97 dollars!!! This means we only need $614.53 to be fully funded through Adventures in Missions!!! I will also need some money for supplies and for while I am gone, but still we are so close. This closeness is good, because I will be leaving WV to go to Launch in GA on Sept. 4th. Thank you all for helping make this happen. Without your prayers, encouragement, donations, and amazing support, I am certain this would not be happening.
I also have to thank everyone who has donated supplies or money specifically for supplies!! The hiking backpack and sleeping bag I am using was lent to me. Someone bought me a tent as a graduation present. Someone donated an electrical adapter, and someone else is donating a laptop. I am sure I am forgetting stuff, but please believe how grateful I truly am.
Training Camp was crazy amazing and crazy challenging. I feel so much more prepared for the trip but also just for life in general. I wish I could just transfer the experience from my brain to yours, because there were so many “you had to be there moments.” But I can tell you some stuff. We woke up early. We exercised. We had interesting food and mealtimes. We had amazing worship time and dance partying. We had some interesting sleeping arrangements. Every part of our beings were challenged. We played. We worked. We laughed. We cried. We started building our community. It was intense in the best ways.
We also found out what countries we are going to!
In Southeast Asia….
it’s the Philippines!!!!
In Africa…

it’s Swaziland!!! Third times a charm I guess.
And in Central America…
it’s Nicaragua.
Also we found out who we are going to be living in community with 24/7 for the next 9 months! I belong to an all girl team with 6 people.
This is Team Selah!

This is us eating at Chick-Fil-A right after we officially found out we were a team.
And here we are all decked out in our squad color for squad wars. We are fierce!
This is all the squads ready for squad wars. My squad did not win. but we had a ton of fun! And I think not winning is sometimes better for a group than winning.
Again thank you for all the support.
Much love!
