Launch was great!

Team Leaders and Treasures came Friday evening to learn more about our roles. My brilliant self left my pictures for Visas at home, so I had to stop on the way to get new ones. I ended up being a little late. But it was fine.

We stayed in a nice hotel. I shared a suite with 2 squadmates.

The Treasurers have got to play a finance game the past few days, so we could practice writing receipts and using the spreadsheet. I am feeling a lot more comfortable and confident now that I had the chance to practice.

It has been amazing to be reunited with my squad and my teammates. GapB! Team Selah!!

But it was real tough saying goodbye to my family Sunday afternoon. We ate at Arby’s for lunch, and then went back to the room to Cupid Shuffle. And I had to my family and my boyfriend, Cody, get the ooVoo app for communication purposes. I have great pictures to go along with this, but they won’t upload right now.

Launch consisted of various talks, sessions, worship, time team, and free time. We went over everything from dealing with pain to safety and security scenarios. We ended with a voluntary dance party. It rocked!!! Collective Outpour, they led us in worship, and the 7 squads at Launch worshipped together.

Traveling was interesting!

We left the hotel to go to the airport at 6:00 something in the morning. This means we had to be awake before 6:00 am. We flew out of ATL at 11:00am to go to an airport in San Francisco. The flight to the Philippines started at 10:30 pm and lasted 14 and a half hours. Woohoo long plane ride!!! We are basically losing Wednesday, which is so crazy. We landed in Manila around 3:00 am on Thursday, September, 11th and met our ministry contact.

So we’re staying in Manila until October 3rd. Then we have a 20-25 hour bus ride to Tacloban. We’re working with Kids International Ministries. It’s really awesome. Today (Monday) is currently my off day, so this is when I’ll be communicating with y’all.

Thank you for all your prayers and support. This help and love is happening thanks to God and to you all!

Much love!
