About 20 hours after leaving the hotel in Atlanta at 4:45 AM and after an emergency landing in Norway, my team landed in Delhi, India. The travel day wasn’t quite over yet since our mission site was a few hours south in a town called Bangalore. But we made it safe and sound minus one person’s bag (luckily it wasn’t mine!)

(42 people and lots and lots of luggage in the airport)

India is everything that I’ve imagined and so much more. I’ve heard that India assaults all of your senses and even in being here for less than a week, I can attest to that statement. The food is spicy, the colors are bright, and the smell is…distinct.

For this month, my team of 6 was joined with another team of 5 to work at our ministry site. We are working with Rise India, which is an organization that partners with local ministers to evangelize and also works closely with former temple prostitutes to bring them the gospel and also practically to teach them a trade. We got to visit with them this morning and talk (most of them actually knew English). It was so powerful!

Here is my team!!

A lot of y’all probably know that I had to bring a tent for the race, but my team got lucky this month because we actually have beds and running water and all of our meals are cooked by the wonderful Mamita!!

View from our room, cows literally just walk the street.

This is what’s known as one of the nicer months on the race, so I’ll take what I can get, I won’t complain about a slower transition. Also not having wifi at the house that we are staying at is stretching in the best way possible. So sorry for the lack of posts, I’m doing what I can!!

It’s hard to believe that just 7 days ago I was in the United States, it feels like it’s been months already. The growth and vulnerability that I’ve already experienced in my team makes me excited for what’s to come in the next 320 days give or take! I love all of you reading this and I hope to post more soon, including more pictures and stories!!

Prayer requests:

  • Prayer just for the poverty here that is like nothing I’ve ever seen, also the abundance of temples to Hindi gods is alarming, literally billions of lost people
  • Revival in India
  • Prayers for Rise India
  • Prayers for our team as we continue to get acclimated
