It’s been my dream to have the term “backpack” synonymous with “home”,

And the thought of World Race Gap Year coming up in a little over three months is getting more and more mind-blowing.

As exciting as it is, I’m still constantly reminded that this is aadventure, and Google hits the nail on the head with their definition:

ad·ven·ture
ad’venCHer,ed-/
noun
 1. an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity.

When I share what I’m doing, I get reactions like,
 “are you going to have to shave your head if your dreads get lice from the third world countries?” or, “remember to never drink the water or you’ll get really sick!” and, I think my personal favorite, “you ought to be really careful, you know, of getting sold into human trafficking while you’re working in that ministry… have you ever seen the movie Taken?”

I just want to put it out there that God is bigger than these things;
all of my fears and your fears are not a roadblock for Him.

     God has been preparing my heart for this trip for the past two years: He raised thousands of dollars for me to afford it and He’s giving me such a strong passion for all of the people we’re going to meet. Our team is going to care for these people and love like Jesus loves. The issues we’re going to face over the nine months are no match for God.

American preacher Francis Chan explains,

 “Simon says, “Pat your head”.

We pat our heads.

Jesus says, “Go therefore and make disciples…”

We memorize that verse.”
