New Team, New Continent

I just finished my third jar of peanut butter which means
month 3 is now over, and the race is now ¼ of the way over.  Some days it seems like the past 3 months
have flown by then there are other days where it seems like it’s been 11 months
already.  It’s been an emotional roller
coaster.  Some days are awesome then
there are the other days.  We have all
seen each other’s highs and lows, sometimes all in one day.  South America has come to a close and we are
off to Europe tomorrow morning.

This week has brought a lot of changes as a squad and as a
team.  Team Fireproof left Cochabamba
Sunday morning for La Paz for debrief and team changes before we all leave on
Wednesday for Europe.  Yesterday morning
we had the dreaded or very welcome team changes.  There was a lot of nervousness in the air around
10am yesterday.   We met in the bar of
our hostel yesterday morning all knowing what was about to come.  Our squad leaders talked to us a little bit
then passed out cards to each of us with the names of our new team members on
it.  After getting our cards we all
dispersed across the hostel to pray and get ourselves prepared before opening
our cards.

 I finally opened my
card and was so happy and relieved after what I read.  One of my friends from back home is on my
squad.  We went to high school together
and were college roommates for two years and now we are on the same team for
the next 8 months along with 5 other incredible people.  Together we are Team Healing Hurricane and we are ready to take on Europe, Africa,
and Asia the next 8 months.  I can’t wait
to see what the next 8 months bring us.
Here is my new team-

Lindsay Short, Kyle Dennard (Team Leader), Me, Kim Butler, Angela Dixon,  Kayla Griffin, and Kelly Mullderig

Making a memory in La Paz

Tonight (at 2:45 am October 12th) we leave our
hostel and head to the airport.  From
here we fly to Santa Cruz, Bolivia – Miami – New York – Istanbul, Turkey – and finally
Tirana, Albania – landing sometime on Friday.
