What an interesting few days it has been. I left Atlanta for Miami almost a week ago,
last Tuesday morning. I spent the night
in Miami with some of my squad mates. We
went to the beach and enjoyed our last day in America together. The next night we took off for Quito,
Ecuador. We landed in Quito around 11 Wednesday
night and headed straight for our hostel.

May. We have been spending the past few
days bonding and getting ready for our first month of ministry in the Amazon
jungle. The last few days were considered launch week. Some of the AIM staff met us down here and we have had meetings and debriefs the past few days. They have covered everything from what to prepare for these 11 months to
how to have proper feedback during our family team time.

taxi to the historic district of Quito.
We got to see some beautiful cathedrals, some markets, and the
presidential palace. After that we took
another taxi up to the top of Parque la Panecillo, a hill overlooking the
historic district. That was followed by
more meetings and team bonding time.

Our plan was to go to the equator.
After about a 2 hours and extremely packed bus ride we made it to the
equator. We stayed there for a while
acting like tourists and taking pictures of everything we saw. After that we split up and some went to the
mall and the others took a gondola up a Pichincha volcano, about 13,000 feet up. It was incredible! We
stayed up there for a few hours taking pictures and hiking around on the
top.

What’s Next?
9, boarding a van, and driving about 6 hours to Huaticocha for the next
month. We don’t really know much about
what we will be doing this month. We
will be staying in the church there and we will be doing construction projects
most of the month. We won’t have any
running water or internet there, so this will be the last blog for a
while. We have also been warned about
the snakes and all of jungle sounds we will hear are around Huaticochca. Please pray for us this month that we will have a smooth transition and our team will continue to bond and grow closer together.
