Time has seriously flown by since training camp ended.  It feels like only been a few weeks since I first applied to go on the World Race last September.  Now I only have less than 2 weeks until I say goodbye and leave on the race.  The next few weeks will be filled with saying goodbye to my friends and family and getting all the last minute details in order before launch.  The past few weeks the World Race has actually filled us in on some pretty big details about the location for our first month, a very rare thing.

I will be leaving July 12th for Miami to spend a day down there with some of my squad mates before leaving the next day July 13th for Quito, Ecuador, not Peru like we were originally told a few weeks ago.

We will be in Quito for a few days for more training and to get used to life as a world racer.  After our stop in Quito, team Fireproof will be heading to Hauticocha, Ecuador until mid August.  I’m not really sure where it is because I can’t find it on a map anywhere.  I only know a few things about Hauticocha after reading a few blogs from other world racers.  Hauticocha is somewhere in the Amazon jungle, there is little running water there, and the internet will be very hard to come by.  While in Hauticocha we will be working with an organization called Inca Link International.  We will be helping them by working in the village, visiting, and helping with VBS camps. I cannot wait to be there!  It will be one incredible first month.

Right now I still need to raise about $8,750 until I am fully funded at $15,500.  I am very thankful for all the people who have already supported me financially.   Because of YOU I am actually able to leave for Ecuador in 2 weeks!
