Cappuccinos
Change Lives

Albania is a Muslim nation

70-80% of the people I pass
each day are Muslim

While they aren’t practicing
Muslims, the younger generation is becoming more radical or abandoning religion
all together

On our first day here we saw what it is like to minister
in a Muslim country and how pivotal prayer is to the process.  Prayer.
Prayer is beautiful.  Prayer is
incredible.  Prayer is powerful.

This month we are working with high school students in Tirana,
the capital of Albania.  Each Saturday our
organization, “New Life”, has a big youth group-like meeting; afterwards the
leaders take some of the students out for coffee for deep personal
discussions.  Last Saturday I found
myself sitting in on one of these conversations.

 There I was with 2
high school students and Gentjan, one of our contacts and New Life staff
member.  He translated as we talked about
life in America and Albania.  We talked
about other stuff also but I don’t remember because I was trying my hardest to
stay awake as I struggled from some serious jet lag.

After a little bit Gentjan said he couldn’t translate
anymore because he needed to talk to one of the boys and it would take too long
to translate.  He said that I should pray
for them as they talked.  So I
prayed.  I had an idea of what was going
on but not really.  Both of the guys grew
up as Muslims and one had just recently become a Christian.  As I prayed for them Gentjan was sharing the
Gospel to one of the guys.  About 45
minutes later we were all praying and the guy accepted Christ.  In about 90 minutes while sitting over
cappuccinos a life was changed forever and I was honored to be a part of
it.
