In October 2019 I had a vivid vision during one of our evening worship sessions. There we were, about a hundred people at the AIM training center gathered for the sole purpose of worshiping the Lord. As I prepared my heart to invite His presence in, I thought to myself – there could be a hundred different reasons of why we are here, with a hundred different reasons of how the Lord brought us together, and the only One that truly knew how all of us pieced together was our Sovereign King Jesus.

It was only 3 more days before the end of training camp and 2 more months before our missionaries would launch in January 2020. My hope is that we would all experience a year of new beginnings, sudden changes, endless possibilities, miracles and adventures, grief and comfort, tears and joy with Jesus beside us. I knew as an intercessor, I needed to be open to whatever posture He needed me to take during worship. I was willing to speak whatever words needed to be brought to life or whatever needed to be prayed for in the Spirit. Something in me knew, this coming year would be a year like no other. And I remember feeling like I was entering a battlefield. I was expectant that God was getting ready to do something big in all our hearts that night.

The worship began, and the Lord said, “Kneel” – a posture of humility, submission, and respect. It reminded me of Ephesians 3:14, Paul’s prayer for spiritual growth. Then I felt a prompting to lift my hands as I knelt – an act of praise and awe of God’s power. I recalled Moses and how he held up His hands during the battle between the Israelites and Amalekites. His hands lifted meant victory for God’s people (Exodus 17:11).

By the Grace of God my hands stayed up for the whole worship session because I believe God wanted victory for all of us in that room. Victory from any chains wrapped around us, from the temptations that cause us to turn away in shame, and from the lies and false identities we carry.

I believe it was at this time of physical discomfort and obedience in intercession that allowed me to experience a vision so powerful that it has seared into my heart and melted into my soul. I don’t ever want to forget what I saw.

I saw…Revival in the supernatural.

This might be strange for some to read. I’m aware that some churches don’t talk or teach about visions, intercession, or seeing God in the supernatural. But I think, more than ever, we need to begin talking and living from a place of partnership with the Holy Spirit. Now is the time to wake up and see the reality of Heaven (Colossians 3:1-17).

I’m going to attempt to describe my vision…this is very intimate and vulnerable for me, but I’m doing this out of obedience because I believe this vision and word is for the church to hear.

This supernatural Revival came in the form of orbs that floated above us. The orbs from above looked large enough to fit in my hand. I could still feel the warmth all around me and the brightness I saw even though the lights in the room were dimmed for worship. Each orb looked like a beautiful blend of golden, red, orange, and white colors. I sensed that around the room almost everyone was in a posture to receive that night. It was as if their hearts although calloused by the pains of life, were ready to know Jesus in a new way. As the worship team sang louder and praises our praises reached the Heavens, the orbs began falling one by one. They landed on top of people’s heads and sunk into their hearts creating what looked like lava that swirled and churned about in their chest. As we kept singing, calling on the power behind the name of Jesus, a shift happened in the atmosphere. I saw one person’s chest burst open and out came a fire, so beautiful and mesmerizing. It can start with one person…

Eventually, more chests began to burst, and more fire came pouring out until it consumed the space, and I could no longer see the people. Before me was a spiritual, supernatural wildfire that began from one person and spread throughout the room.

Victory was ours.

I looked to the right of me and I saw my beautiful team – World Race America 2020. This was the group of people God gave me to lead, each of them a gift, and each of them representing an answered prayer.

I saw in their hearts something different. In their hearts was a single flame, not quite like the wildfire going on around me but just as captivating. The flame was big enough that if you added some oil, it would have the potential to create wildfires. “Lord, anoint us with oil” (Isaiah 61). Large droplets of what seemed like sweat formed on my forehead and behind my neck, even though I didn’t feel them before when I was kneeling. As I touched them one by one on their heads, my forehead and neck began to dry. And, by the time I finished praying over my last team member, all the moisture had left me.

I believe the Lord was preparing our team to be like the ones that have the potential to walk into a space and start supernatural, spiritual wildfires.

I knew at that moment and then affirmed two more times by people I trust and through the Word of God what I believe the Holy Spirit wanted me to see and know about Revival.

I believe Revival can come in two forms and it’s not an either/or but rather a both/and. Revival can come in the form of thousands of people all gathered together experiencing Jesus, miraculous healings, baptisms, salvations, and sudden deliverance. And Revival can also come in the form of that one person surrendering all to God during a worship session and in her heart saying, “Yes Lord.”

I believe God has shown me my role in Revival. It might never look like speaking in front of thousands of people or witnessing massive movements of people coming back to the Lord through repentance. But through obedience, I can partake and serve in the Revival of that one person. I can minister the breath of the Holy Spirit and fan the flame within their own heart. When they are weary, I can intercede and ask the Lord to anoint them with a fresh touch. When they’re burdened, I can help carry the load and be present when there are no words to say but only tears of hope to shed. I can speak against apathy in their soul and ignite a spark that will help their fire burn brighter than ever.

For as long as the Lord wills it, I want to be there to watch that flame within their heart and by His power keep it safe so that it won’t be snuffed out by the shadows of a broken world.

I have seen Revival and it starts supernaturally before it can move into the natural. It manifests in the natural when we are willing and obedient to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

I have seen Revival in the tear-filled eyes of a young girl who heard the name of Jesus and was reminded of hope. I’ve seen it in an old friend who took the time to reach out and say, “I want to love Jesus.” I saw it in an old woman at the Kroger grocery store who was moved by a word from the Lord and was comforted.

Revival began in an older gentleman who has believed in Jesus for 50+ years but just recently got saved and baptized. Revival happened within a group of people during a Bible Study as the members experienced physical and spiritual healing. Revival happened at a dollar general where we held an impromptu, Spirit-led church service on aisle 8. The flame of Revival grew larger in the heart of a young woman whose prayers were answered because she chose to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Revival is here and the wildfires have begun. And God willing, I’ll get to continue to witness it at this level of intimacy, closeness, and vulnerability with the people He places on my path each day. I love massive movements of Revival. I also love Revival that seems small from an earthly perspective, but massive from the heavenly perspective.

For now, my role in Revival is to keep the fire burning in the heart of at least one willing person. Maybe that one person, that one flame that I get the honor of fanning will be used by God in ways that changes history for generations to come.

Who can truly know? God does and that brings me all the peace I need to keep trusting, keep obeying, keep fanning the flames of Revival until all the pockets of wildfires throughout our nation spreads and consumes everything but His Glory, His Kingdom.
