Yesterday we said “see you later” to Botswana.

We made more memories together, shared some tears, and a lot more laughter. We fellowshipped over delicious dinners and more interesting ones like tripe, kidneys, and caterpillars. We rested by watching movies, reading, playing cards, and singing. We worked together during our ministries encouraging each other to be bold for Christ.

God knew when He placed us here that we would need this time together. It’s really bittersweet because for this next month in Zambia, we will no longer be known as 1010 FIERCE. This is the time during our World Race journey where we all switch teams. And although we’re excited, we are also just nervous for change.

I learned so much from each of them! But here’s what the Lord put on my heart to share.

To my sister Amy — You taught me how to find my worth in Christ by getting to know His heart for me. You taught me how to trust again because you loved me from a genuine place that brought out the best in me.

To my sister Charity — You taught me how to see people without judgment and condemnation. You welcomed me even though we come from such different places and backgrounds. That’s true sisterly love in Christ.

To my sister Cimone — You taught me patience. Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” You were patient on the Lord’s provision especially with your fundraising. But you never lost faith. Instead you stepped boldly and courageously into every ministry we were a part of, trusting patiently that the Lord will provide your every need.

To my sister Laiken — You taught me the meaning of “be still.” Coming from a life where I was always on the go, busy without being intentional, you taught me that I was just as valuable in Christ and just as loved by Him even in my stillness.

To my sister Claire — You taught me how to be humble, how to ask for help, and how to lead with grace. You showed me how to be joyful even during tribulations. You taught me how to love again because of how you reflect the love of Christ.

To my sisters of 1010 FIERCE, I love you with all my heart. It’s never a goodbye. But life in Christ is always an “I’ll see you later.” Thank your for loving me with the same heart as Jesus.
