Hello from Albania!  We are in the town of Shkodra working with Campus Crusade for Christ.  We have been here for exactly a week now and have spent our time passing out magazines with invitations to Student Life’s first weekly meeting of the year, talking with students (as much as we could in our limited Albanian), and attending prayer meetings with the involved students in Student Life.   On Monday, we will begin teaching English to a few students who expressed interest in learning.

As we moved on from South America into Eastern Europe, I didn’t know what to expect.  I really like Albania: the people, the language, the quieter atmosphere.  Earlier this week I was sitting outside of the market where we were buying groceries and asking the Lord what the word for this month was going to be.  Last month it was trust and as I sat watching the people go by God gave me the world boldness.  For those of you that know me, I can be bit meek at times, not speaking up or being afraid to.  Over the past three months the Lord has shown me that my words have power and life in them, so now is the time to begin to use them, to speak up and out, to be bold in words and in actions.
As we went from the market to the Student Life prayer meeting, God confirmed this word.  We were worshiping and praying together with the Student Life team and as we entered into a time of prayer one of the staff members said let us pray for boldness to share our faith and to live our lives in such a way as to show others the love of Christ.  There was that word again: boldness.  This month is going to be about boldness.  I’ll let you know how that plays out over the rest of this month.
Side note about prayer meeting: As we were worshiping with our Albanian brothers and sisters, I thought “this is how its supposed to be.”  In Christ there are no language barriers or even different nationalities.  In Christ we are one.  It was a beautiful picture of the body of Christ as we worshiped and prayed together.
