Overwhelmed but good is the phrase that best describes these past two weeks at home. My two conflicting desires are to either talk to and spend time with everyone I know or to hole up alone in my room. In all the crazy up and down emotions, the Lord reminds me that He brought me on this journey and He will take me the rest of the way.
So through the ups and downs I’m grateful. I’m grateful to hug my mom, play with my nieces, have dinner with my brother and his wife, and spend time with some of my best friends.
I’m also grateful for an amazing group of people who have loved, supported, and prayed for me through this whole, crazy World Race journey. To my CUMC family this blog is dedicated.
Dear CUMC Family,
Six and a half years ago you welcomed into your world a timid, small town raised, fresh out of college girl to be your children’s minister. I had no clue what I was doing and it took us a few months to get acquainted. But you helped me through it, you shared your lives with me, you laughed and cried with me. You trusted me with your children and I loved every minute of building relationships with all of you. Last year you supported my decision to be obedient and follow God’s call even when that call meant leaving CUMC.
Sunday night you made my heart glad. Every time I walked around a corner or through a door there was someone special to hug. Someone jokingly asked me if I was keeping a tally of how many hugs I got. Well, I don’t know if there were 101, but it sure felt like it.
I pray God will fill you with His Spirit to do His work on this earth. Continue to use the same love you have shown me to bring God’s kingdom to the Carmel community. Thank you CUMC for following my journey and for lifting me up in prayer. You will always be in my heart.
Love,
Ginny
