I marvel at how God has woven the tapestry of my life and led me to this point of joining the World Race. I’ve heard it only takes 7 seconds for a person to influence you. That could just be walking down the street. Or a smile. Or a word.
I love words. I love to study them. I love to speak them. I love to write them. I love to read them. Below are a few books that have made a huge impact on my life – I invite you to dig into them 🙂
I’m also compiling a list of what I’m reading now, and what I might take with me on the Race (remember LIGHT, I need to go LIGHT on the packing). We’ll make a little library between our squad-mates I’m sure.
Books I’ve read in the past three years that I’d highly recommend:
The Prodigal God by Tim Keller
Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller
Seeing What is Sacred by Ken Gire
TrueFaced by Bill Thrall, John Lynch and Bruce McNicol
Crazy Love by Francis Chan
What’s So Amazing About Grace? Visual Edition. by Philip Yancey
Hope in the Dark Photography by Jeremy Coward, reflections by Jena Lee
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers (fiction)
The Shack by William Young (fiction)
Counterfeit Gods by Tim Keller
In the Name of Jesus – Reflections on Christian Leadership by Henri Nouwen
Believing God (Bible Study) by Beth Moore
God, What’s Your Name by Kay Arthur and Janna Arndt (Bible Study for Kids)
Currently Reading:
The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning
Adopted for Life by Russell D. Moore (ok, confession I’ve been reading this book on and off for over a year, I hope to finish it before I leave)
Lies Women Believe by Nancy Leigh DeMoss
The DreamGiver by Bruce Wilkinson
…. and of course, the Good Book 🙂
Any suggestions for the Race?…
