Our last Sunday at church, we took pictures of each family for Pastor Alex (kind of like a directory). Divine, our interpretor this month, brought her Bible for her photo. She lives at the church and doesn’t own much. But this, this Bible is her very own and she’s so proud of it.
The kids on the block.
Just another African neighborhood scene.
Sometimes what we focus on isn’t really the point. There is joy all around – can you see it? Don’t miss it.
In a real rodeo, there is the bareback bronc event.
On this rodeo, we have the bare-butt pick up.
Never know what you’re gonna find when you pick up a kid.
Saturday morning chores with mom.
A church group picture – a tight squeeze. Each Rodeo member preached this month. God provided Bibles (Ugandan and English) that we presented to church members when we visited them in their homes.
June was a harvest-full of blessings.
The Pastoral Staff – John, David, Peter, Lona (Pastor’s wife), Head Pastor Alex, and Samuel.
A little boy who lived next door to the church, Ian, and Greg hamming it up.
You’ve probably heard the saying about ‘don’t just give a person a fish, but teach them how to fish and they’ll not go hungry again’
There was something about handing a family a Bible. It was better than giving them food – or a fish. Food would be gone within minutes. But the Word of God – this was a gift that would feed them for a lifetime. A gift that would raise a family. A gift that would give light.
This is teaching them how to fish.
