Blind, paralyzed, limbs missing. There we were, the women of the October Squad, plane wrecked in the North Georgia woods. Sweaty, hot, and handicapped we women had to make it to the Pavilion in 15 minutes through woods and flaming debris.

Welcome to the World Race Training Camp! (The plane crash was a team-building scenario – we are all healthy and well!) We’re learning to talk (well, communicate effectively), build each other up, break down walls, hear God, and live in community. And talk about community – have you ever camped with 68 other people? I’m not quite sure how it all came together but I know it was anointed. I know this is exactly where I need to be. It isn’t comfortable sweating under the hot Georgia sun (seriously, these three years in the North has ruined all heat tolerance for me). But hearing from God’s word, confessing to one another, praising God, and declaring Truth in boldness over each other and over the coming year – this, THIS is my next step. Thank You God!

The Bare Facts:

-I’m at training camp in White, Georgia. I leave for the World Race sometime in October.

-I’m staying in a tent with my backpack. But last night, just for a change in scenery our squad went camping – hiked, cooked over the campfire, made shelters, swam in the lake, had chocolate for the first time since arrival J (and instant coffee for breakfast!). Yep, all 68 of us. It was spirit-filled and just plain fun!

-I do not know my launch date in October yet (not until much later).

-I do not know the countries we are going to (no biggie, even if we do get an itinerary it will most likely change.) Remain flexible/fluid. Most likely we will be starting in Guatemala.

-We (October Squad) are also at training camp with the September Squad which as been split into two squads. Total with leaders and trainers, there are about 200 of us at camp.

-We haven’t been placed in our teams  of 6-8 people. But we are doing several team building and trials of our teams before we are placed – this is fascinating. You can pray for wisdom and peace for all of us. God is definitely putting us where we need to be sharpened and encouraged. J
