Honestly, when we began our team building exercises for training camp, it felt a little like picking kickball teams in elementary school. I want to make the team! I want to be on the winning team. I don’t want to be the last one chosen!

The cool thing is that team placement was NOTHING like elementary kickball or high school volleyball. It was fascinating – a logistical puzzle (placing 70 people into teams of 6-8) and a mesmerizing mixture of personalities. Saturated in prayer (and I do mean saturated), our team trainers and leaders arranged us into our new families.
The entire squad (70 or so people) will mostly travel together to each country. We are the October Squad, S-Squad or Blue Squad (take your pick). Service in each country will vary but we will most likely disperse into our teams and serve where our contacts are located.
SO meet my team… my family for the Race! Yay! So glad I was picked!
Team Memory Making
When our teams were called out, we were given the task to “make a memory.” What do you do when you’ve been in the woods for five days? Go get caffine (naturally) and do get a chocolate rush (Tim Tam Slams). 🙂
Our team name… LIONHEART. Stay tuned for the next update on the meaning behind the name.
