I am continually amazed at the tapestry God weaves. He is truly the best Connector. I love how He connects His children when we are open to His guidance and walk in obedience. I continue to discove how many different organizations (churches and denominations) exist and when they operate together what an incredible impact they can make for the Kingdom of God.
Years ago, my grandmother met a missionary couple, Rick and Teresa Dickson, with Mission Aviation Fellowship. MAF works with several other organizations to bring relief to those in need around the world. Almost cousins, my grandmother and Teresa have stayed in contact over the years from countries in Africa to now Central America. And this month I had the pleasure to meet the Dicksons!
Well, not only did I meet them but Rick, Teresa and their son John, graciously opened their home to Team Lionheart and two other teams headed through Costa Rica to Panama. That is a total of 21 people with luggage and a huge appetite. We stepped out of Costa Rica and into Southern hospitality in the heart of San Jose! A home cooked meal (without rice!), a hot shower that didn’t require flip-flops, a clean dog we were allowed to play with (Taco!), and solid, healthy conversations that lifted our spirits even more than any physical luxuries could.

The Whole Gang!
It was amazing to see the connections within the teams and the Dicksons – from hometowns and past experiences; to interests in flying and pastors we love to listen to. Not a day has past since then, that our team hasn’t referenced the hospitality modeled for us in Costa Rica.
Teresa and I concluded, that though we may not be related by “blood” we are family by blood – Jesus’ blood. I love having a big family!
