Sorry folks. I’ve been a little behind in my blogging lately…. sorry about that!
Well, two weeks ago my team and I arrived in Lima, Peru. We arrived at 2 in the morning to a large group of Peruvian’s greeting us with lots of kisses and hugs. It was quite nice! Then the following day the race took place, which my team ended up taking first place… “go team go”! Due to a small communication error amongst my team, I was an able to race with them. Kari, my other teammate, and I got serperated from them and had our own day of fun and exploration. We went to the beach, ate ice cream, had 2 guys attempt to steal one of our bags, which they were unsuccessful, and enjoyed a nice peaceful day. After that, squad B departed from us and headed up to the Andes, while we, squad A, remained here in Lima working together at a local church.
So far I greatly enjoy the people and the community at the church. They have our group going out into the community talking to people, talking at schools, and running several services at the church. I haven’t been able to do too much of that because I’ve been sick almost every day since we arrived. I have some weird stomach flu or something. It’s not the most fun thing in the world! I’m fine for the most part except for when I eat, and then it’s no beuno. Hopefully, my day of being healthy should be some where in the near future.
That’s pretty much all that’s been going on here. Some fun things have also happened such as going to surfing, drinking some yumminess from Starbucks, and getting to play in the worship band as the drummer. So that’s been fun!
Alright, well stay tuned in until the next time.
