So I mentioned my obsession for social media, specifically Instagram, in my “About Me” page. Yes, I’m an 18-year-old girl and sharing my life through pictures I’ve edited with various apps to the world is something I really really like to do. I particularly like sharing pictures of my feet in converse. While I was working at camp last summer (I will probably mention camp very often because it’s a huge part of my heart), I was a server and had to wear closed toed shoes for 4 weeks straight. For some reason, my go to shoe was a pair of converse that I hadn’t worn since maybe 8th grade but I loved them so much and they had such character after those long weeks. Well, from then on out I was hooked and the first time I went home first semester I immediately bought a new pair; perfect, clean, and sunshine yellow. From that point, I started posting pictures of my shoes with a little inspiration for the viewers. This is where “#Jesusrocks” was born as well. Now it’s a hit sensation.

Feet seem like such a weird topic to write a blog post on, but I often forget the power and magic of feet. A lot of things wouldn’t be possible if we didn’t have feet and it’s so easy to take them for granted. But Jesus knew their power. He saw them as beautiful, intimate, and a symbol for our service to Him. Jesus took time to wash the disciples feet because they were important. Our feet take us down the path the Lord has guided for us, a path that is beyond all of our wildest dreams. Our feet are beautiful because the power of Christ is in them, to take us to the deepest places and share the richest of stories to the world. Our feet are used to crush the enemy underneath us, to defeat Satan and bring praise to the Father. We use our feet to worship and stand in awe of Jesus, lift our hands or fall to our knees in surrender. Feet are used to serve, submit to the Lord, and be in obedience to the will of the Father.

My feet are taking me to the unsaved places to share the good news of the Gospel. They’re taking me to those who are in need and cannot repay me. They’re taking me to wherever and whomever God has chosen me go. As I go about life before hopping on a plane for 9 months, I will walk with God. We will walk side by side as He prepares my heart to take on this enormous uncomfortable challenge. He will tell me to take off my shoes and use my beautiful feet to walk the nations.

“And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10:15

Lord help me to be in complete obedience to you and take me places that you desire me to go and speak of you. Light your Kingdom on fire through me and allow me to delight in you when my feet hurt and I’m weak. You are more sufficient for me they I will ever know and I am made strong in you.

In Him,
