Hi there y’all! I know I know, long time no blog.
My past month and a half has been exhilarating in the exciting country of Guatemala! My team and I are doing ministry in a village called Bola De Oro (which literally translates to ball of gold, how cool!!). It has been fun to take on the challenge of teaching! We are teaching our classes English, Bible, Art and Sports and also tutoring children and adults alike to enhance their English. It has been so amazing to help bless them with the ability to speak English.
Some extra good news also: a short term ministry opportunity has opened up for my team and I. My teammate Abigail has gone on two previous mission trips to Guatemala and had the chance to work with Casa Bernabé Orphanage previously.
Abigail says “t’s a Christian orphanage located in Villa Canales. Because of the faithfulness of the Lord, Casa Bernabe has become more than a safe-haven for children of all ages and backgrounds, but also a school, a church, and a ministry outreach to the villages and communities surrounding it. This place is where my love for missions all began and I’m thrilled to be returning for a short time.”
She has organized a time for us to go volunteer at this orphanage she holds very dear to her heart on April 26-28. In order for our team to go, however, we must fundraise $60 each because this ministry is specific to our team and is not incorporated in our world race budget.
But we never fear because the Lord has blessed each of us with incredible supporters such as yourselves. Praise the Lord that he has a plan for each of us.
If you feel inclined to donate
Venmo @Abigail-Lineberry type the racer’s name your’e donating to in the description (in this case it would be Gillian of course)
But please feel free to donate for others on our team as well.
Thanks and God bless
