I’ve always had a passion for helping people in need and spreading the love of Jesus. I’m beyond grateful knowing that I get to do the race.
I had a set plan for my future, which was go to college for something medical related. I found out about the race from a friend of mine who is also doing it. I was excited for her, but it wasn’t in my “plan” to want to do this mission trip. I remember my mom really pushing me to do it, but I would just kind of brush her off.
The more I saw my friend post about it, the more it was on my mind. Eventually the race was the only thing I would constantly be thinking about, so I took that as a sign from God that he wanted me to do this. I prayed and prayed and he kept telling me “you were made for this” and “this would be perfect for you.” This is the most I’ve ever heard from God before, so I knew I needed to apply.
I talked to my friend about it, still kind of unsure, she told me how she applied and if she got in it was God’s plan for her, and if she didn’t then he had something else in mind for her. So I applied after hearing that with the same concept she had, and I heard back saying I got in!
