If you read my blog, The Boys of December, then you know all about how my team and I spent the month of December…hanging out with a bunch of orphans, living in a tree house, stuffing our faces with popcorn on movie and game nights, sporting dirt stained feet and grass stained knees, dodging giants bulls and crazy goats, having nightly pillow fights, playing never ending games of volleyball and ultimate frisbee, and sweating in the Mozambique sun. Basically we became a bunch of little boys that month. The guys that lived there absolutely stole our hearts, and right from day 1. Basically we stood no chance.
One of the boys in particular Joao Bude, stole my heart with his 'tough guy' exterior but complete softy interior (much like my dad and brothers.) Joao Bude, passed away a month and a half after we left Kedesh, on February 19th, 2013 at the tender age of 11 from an unknown sickness. Joao, a fatherless boy, adopted into the Kedesh family has and still has a Heavenly Father who gave him both his earthly life and took it away. God is good and He cares for the fatherless both on earth and after death.

Please check out this video recap of our time spent at Kedesh and see how we found love in a hopeless place.
