Hi and welcome to my blog! My name is Genevieve (Genna) Dalence and I am 22 years old. I have chosen to do the World Race beginning in August 2018 where I will travel around the world to 11 different countries in 11 months. I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in communities to plant churches, do construction projects, work in orphanages, teach English, lead vacation Bible schools, and empower communities through the guidance of the Lord. I chose this program because I want to grow in my faith, serve others, live outside my comfort zone, and do something a little bit crazy during this time in my life. www.worldrace.org

I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. I grew up going to church, but made God a big priority in my life towards the beginning of high school. I just wanted to learn more and more. When I graduated, I decided to attend Furman University. I greatly desired to go to a school where I could grow in my faith along with gain a quality education to prepare me for a future career. My time at Furman was a beautiful and challenging four years of career, faith and self-discovery! I just graduated on May 5th, 2018!

I have decided to do this program because I know that this is a time in my life that I need space. I need space to gain a larger perspective on the world, to wrestle with my many faith questions, and to prioritize my personal and spiritual growth for one year (and hopefully form habits for the rest of my life). I am doing this program not because it will be fun and easy, but because I know that I need to be saturated by God’s love right now. I need to fight for my faith and intentionally look for God every day. Through a season of doubt, I am choosing to do this to lean into God.

Support for my mission would be appreciated whether financially or prayerfully!

Please feel free to call/text or email me with any questions.
