I know it’s a month late…but when you get a chance, check out my newest video “Christmas in Cambodia!” It shows our Christmas Eve dinner together with my team, Ruach Chayil, and Bri’s team, AuROARa. On Christmas morning we went to a local church, heard an amazing testimony by a paraplegic man, ate lunch there, and then we were surprised by our hosts and taken to a surprise destination for dessert!
Some of the things I didn’t film: We had an outreach Christmas Eve party for the staff at Overflow and the women who we had been ministering to in bars. Only one woman showed up, an hour and 45 mins. late to our 2 hour party, but we welcomed her and her niece with open arms. We sang Christmas carols and worship songs in the pool (because our Christmas was around 80 degrees F), decorated Christmas cookies, and watched the Christmas part of the Jesus film with the woman, her niece, and some of the staff in Khmer so they could understand why we celebrate Christmas in their own language. The staff walked away about halfway through the film, but she and her niece stayed for the whole Christmas clip! She then told us that her birthday was the next day (on Christmas day!) so we got to sing Happy Birthday to her!
Christmas morning, Amy had cooked us an amazing French toast breakfast, and that night Irene and some of my teammates cooked an amazing American Christmas dinner for us, complete with several different desserts!
