This One Day in India…
1. We were asked to name a baby, so we prayed about it and named him Peter.
2. We fit 10 people and a big backpack in a tuk-tuk.
3. We learned how to make chi tea.
4. We were tired from all the food the village people gave us, then our translator friend Mounibab jokingly said “nap-time” and they brought us extra beds from the neighbors’ houses so we could nap.
5. I held dyed colorful chicks and a woman offered to sell all 4 to me for 20 rupees.

6. Our team made up an action song about a teammate’s favorite recipe.
7. I rode on a moto for the first time.
8. I accidentally let a stray cat loose in our host’s house and we spent 10 mins. trying to get it back outside, only to find out later that it was our host’s cat that we didn’t know about.
Yes. These are all real things that actually happened. There are also more things that happened that day that I am sworn to secrecy about, so I’m afraid those things will stay between our team One Pulse.
The next day all 6 members of our team were proposed to by a guy who wanted to marry an American girl and Morgan was offered to take a toddler back to America with her and we told her #don’ttakethebaby (something we learned from Training Camp that became real in that moment). We were also asked to rename Peter the next day because his grandfather was named Peter and it would be confusing, but we told them we prayed about the name and they could change it if they wanted, but we liked the name Peter.
Oh. The village ladies also did mine, Bri’s, and Morgan’s hair without us asking and made flower pieces for us on the spot. This was all after praying for people daily in the village and befriending the local children.
