One Pulse: Amy, Geneva (me), Brianna, Teagan, Morgan (our team leader), and Steph

These are the lovely girls who will be on my World Race team for the first 3-4 months of ministry on the field. Our team name is One Pulse, which we got from doing a team listening prayer with God, asking Him what words will represent our team. Listening prayer is simply taking the time to pray to God for a word, guidance, or direction, and then just waiting until God puts an answer on your heart. The words and phrases we came up with as a team were: strength, dignity, freedom, clothed in righteousness, thriving, women of valor, love, life, liberation, faith, unity, purpose, collective, boldness, and pulse.

All of these words seemed to come together with the idea of a pulse. A pulse is a heartbeat that stems from a vital organ of the body, the heart. It brings life to the rest of the body by pumping blood from the heart and flowing outward. Then the “bad blood” gets pumped back into the heart so it can be filled with oxygen and bring life. In the same way, our team has a commission to love each other unconditionally and bring life to people we meet and others on our squad by showing them Christ’s love. By sharing this love, it will bring freedom to others. By relying on one another and on God, we will show God’s strength and be clothed in righteousness from what He did for us on the cross. We will bring unity to our squad by being an example of Christ’s love for others. Our team name, One Pulse, is a symbol of God’s commission on us.

I have a confession.

Many of the teams that were formed on our squad are composed of people that were already established friends when the teams were formed. But our team is different. When our team was formed, most of us looked around at the faces of girls that we had barely spoken to during the majority of Training Camp. Amy and I were new friends as of halfway through Training Camp, so we were a little bit happier that we knew at least that one person. But after having done the final team building exercise together, we saw how well we fit together and worked together and saw how we could come together to form a strong team.

All of these girls together, Morgan S, Amy L, Brianna, Steph L, Teagan, and myself, make up One Pulse. We all have very different personalities and come from different backgrounds, but together we make up a strong team of women who will love each other unconditionally and will work together to spread God’s love with the nations. I can’t wait to get to know them better, for us to pour into each other, and pour out that love for others together!

Below is an introduction video of our team! It’s only about 30 seconds long, so if you have a half a minute to spare, check out our first video as a team!
