I am continually amazed by the amount of generosity that has been poured out on me already. There are countless people whom I just casually talked to about the World Race and they ended up wanting to support me without me asking or expecting them to want to donate. There have been family members and family friends whom I just sent a support letter to and haven’t even had time to follow up with a phone call to see if they are interested in supporting me who have sent back checks and letters of encouragement to me. There have been several pastors and church officials who have invited me to speak in the coming months, even before I had a talk prepared. And there have been people who have told me they aren’t ready to support me or can’t contribute financially at this time who have surprised me overwhelmingly by changing their minds and supporting me. Friends have surprised me by wanting to share my blog posts on social media to get the word out about what I’m doing.
All I have to say is, whenever I feel like I’m falling behind on my own personal goals and methods of raising support, God is good. God is faithful and has been teaching me that He will provide when I least expect it. I just have to be thankful and do my best to reach out to others. And even when I don’t, He sends people my way. I am so blessed for all of the old friends I have reconnected with who want to support me financially, encourage me on my journey, or pray for me along the way.
I just want to say thank you so much to all those who have supported me so far, whether financially, prayerfully, emotionally, with references, on social media, and in many other ways! The first leg of my fundraising race has exceeded my expectations! I am so blessed to have all of you in my life.
