During our children’s ministry Saturday morning there was this little guy who wouldn’t participate in any games. I noticed he would leave in and out of the room and wonder around, so I followed him and kept reaching out my hand and inviting him in but he wouldn’t take it, he seemed afraid. I would talk to him and get no response. I then assumed he just didn’t understand me. I knew I had to keep pursuing even if he never wanted me to or if he wandered off.

I then thought, is this what it’s like for the Lord? He reaches out His hand and we refuse to take it and walk with him because we’re afraid of what it might look like. He speaks to us and we don’t respond because maybe we simply just don’t understand Him. But He continues to pursue, so that maybe we might.. God started pursuit. He is continually pursuing us. He is persistently and patiently pursuing and inviting you to join Him.

I asked him if he wanted to get on my back, he hesitated but then nodded yes. I ran around and spun with him, and he laughed.

When I put him down he was so ready to sit on my lap, when we asked for his name he gave it, Santina.

It’s until we take the Lords invitation and He carries us on His back, that we get filled with joy. We’re then ready to sit with him and speak with him because we’re no longer afraid. He knows our name and we know his.

Will you accept His proposal to follow Him, or will you keep walking away and ignore Him?
