Day 15 9-23-2012

We woke up early sunday morning and left for San Juan for our man retreat that Phillip planned. It was a blast loved seeing all the guys and the teams of girls that were staying at the house. We went and ate some the best tacos in the world at a local restaurant and I also got elected as the teams treasurer for the couple of days the guys were together. We stayed up late with an awesome session of worship loved it. I finished off the night in a game of cards which was a lot of fun.

Day 16 9-24-2012

This morning we went to the grocery store and figured out what the menu was for our two day adventure. We spent about an hour trying to decide what we are going to do for dinner we finally settled on hotdogs, beans, onions, and barbecue sauce. The day went really well we got to the starting point of the trail by 10:30am and began a four mile hike in to the woods with just the fourteen guys from the J Squad we went up and around these gorgeous mountains and through the river on the other side. So breath taking. We spent the night on a little grass area above the river and built a huge campfire. I also really enjoyed the alone time we got to spend with God in the middle of the afternoon the Lord revealed that to me.

Day 17 9-25-2012

We woke up early broke camp early and spent the morning coming back out of the mountains. arrived at Miguel's house and spent some more time with the teams that where there and we grabbed lunch at a local empanada place and spent some more time talking to the guys. Josh and I then took a motorcycle taxi to the bus stop to Comendador. We made it back in time for dinner and we spent the rest of the night catching up with the rest of the team.

Day 18 9-26-2012

Today we spent the day talking to the street kids who polish shoes for a living Josh and I talked to them about the gospel and we finished up by painting and decorating there boxes that they carry around with them. They also bought them some more ink. We then finished up our time with an awesome team time Erin one of the squad leaders was visiting for a couple of days with us and gave us some very valuable feedback. We concluded the night when we lost power with some worship lead by Josh on the guitar.

This pretty much concludes our ministry in the DR we will be going to a church service on friday night in San Juan that our pastor asked if we would attend and that will be when we say goodbye to the pastor and family as well as our translator. What an awesome adventure we had in the DR!!!
