I have finally made into the DR in a small town called Comendador what a lovely village we have come into. I have such a beautiful oppurtunity to enjoy the culture and our host family is wonderful. here is some of my journal entries from the last couple of days!
Day 1 Arrival at location in DR 9-9-2012
Thank the Lord we made it to the haiti and DR border safely The Lord was watching out for us our hosts have been so amazing they have three kids 2 girls 1 boy they treated us so well they made spaghetti for our first night here. This month we will be doing a lot of walking to the different ministry sites but we always attract a crowd as we walk people gather around the americanos they call us. We are currently waiting for claire to finish meeting with the contact so we can begin our first official feedback session this month is going to be awesome best food so far!
Day 2 9-10-2012 First official day of ministry
I have spent the morning with the team at a local High School where we have began a day rebuilding desks and doing other ground keeping task i spent the day weed eating and raking up all the grass basically mowing with a weed eater. We have been so blessed with a house to stay in and running water even if it is only between 7pm-12pm. The Rain today was awesome what a quick way to get clean even if we were a 30 min walk away from our host home!
