Month two of my race and I am in an area of the world that I never dreamed I would be. Seriously, Moldova? Das right Moldova! Because of our living situation, Layne and I have about a twenty-minute walk every night to get to Babushka’s house, or our contact’s mothers house. We usually head over after our team time, which can be anywhere from 8:00 to 11:00. On some nights feedback can be tough, and other nights we may just talk about a verse or two. However, the point of this time is to grow as a family and bring life into each other. The fact is that it is suppose to come from a place of love, and we call things out of each other that the individual cannot see in their self.
Most nights when Layne and I walk back, we have a lighthearted conversation that leads into our pillow talk. The other night we were quiet for some reason. We just kicked a walnut back and forth as we walked down the dark road. Then a thought hit me like a ton of bricks. What an incredible opportunity I have. I am half way across the world, going deeper with people that I have known for two months, than I ever have gone with people I have known for years. I am incredibly thankful to have a chance to grow as a friend, a brother, a son, and a man of God. I am surrounded with people who constantly push me to my limits in my faith. I am being stretched in ways that never would have happened if I chose to stay in school. As for God, he is holding my hand through all of this. Picking me up when I fall and catching me when I stumble.
Let me know how we can be praying for you and please keep praying for us.
P.S. Going into my third week without a shower… how many days should I go?
