So Who Am I?

Wait… That's It?
So I know what you are thinking… that was quite the introduction, but who is this guy? Well let's start in September of 2009, I had graduated high school (barely) three months before and in order to justify sluffing off I signed up for the Marine Corps. Now that I was leaving I told myself I didn't have to maintain relationships or even try at life at all. Rewind to my childhood, it wasn't rough, it wasn't particularaly hard. It was normalish my parents worked all the time and we didn't have a chance to go to church, yet I always felt a connection that I couldn't explain. There was something deep rooted in me, as is in everyone, something beyond my comprehension. Driving me to look up. Of course being a broken being in a broken world, I chose to turn away from that connection to Him. All the while He patiently waited….
So The Military…
I went to basic training in October 2009. That was an interesting experience. During that time I made the choice to completely turn my back on the Lord. After basic I continued with the other training slowly going from turning my back to walking into darkness. After I was stationed in WA I really started upping the ungodly behavior. I would spend many days and nights filling my emptyness with things of this world.
It Gets Better Now Right?
I am sorry to say that we are not quite there in the story of me. I was discharged honorably in May 2011. I came home and became my darkness and ungodly behavior. I let it totally consumed me. I was heading in a very wrong direction which in my mind I thought there was no escape.
The Good Part.
In January of 2012 I participated in a Bible study held by my Aunt. During that time I was resistant to even the idea that I could be saved. As I continued on week after week my fight to resist was fading. Now I'm not someone who remembers specific dates or times but in January my fight to stay turned away ceased. I turned into His open arms. I am so grateful. I honestly owe everything to Him.
How I Got Here.
Well the discovery of the World Race was interesting. God had put heavy on my heart the desire to serve Him, I'm a go getter always have been. I knew I was meant for missions, but how the heck do I even start? Well as always His plan is perfect and after multiple attempts (on my own, without waiting for Him to show me the opportunity) I stumbled across the World Race. I knew I had found it, what I was looking for the whole time but was revealed on His time. I prayed for the chance, and He responded when I was accepted. I thought to myself "wait YOU chose ME?" I couldn't believe it. I am so honored and excited to serve the Lord, to experience His kingdom for what it is, to "give freely, because freely I have been given."
