Hey Racer!

September is right around the corner and we’re getting ready for you to come join us! As promised, we want to give you a little more context on what the Fall Semester will be like in regards to Covid health and safety.

Just a head’s up that later today our Parent Ministry department will also be communicating this information to your parents.

Check it out and let me know if you have any questions! Can’t wait for you to come!

Preparation for Coming to Camp:

  1. Proof of a negative Covid test for registration: At registration, you must provide proof that you’ve tested negative for Covid within 12 days of arriving on campus, per Georgia state regulations. So, don’t get tested any earlier than Friday, August 21st!

    1. Some cities have limited testing sites for asymptomatic people wanting to be tested. Begin checking in your area for testing locations, requirements, and timelines. Ask questions like, Will they test asymptomatic individuals? Can you make an appointment now for the timeframe you need the test?

    2. If you test positive for Covid prior to coming, please let your Admissions advisor know ASAP so that we can determine a postponed arrival date. If you do not show up with proof of a negative Covid test, we will be unable to register you and you will be responsible for housing and quarantining until you can test negatively.

  2. Squads will be separated for the near future: Just like life on the field, you’ll get the chance to bond with your squad! While we love big groups, separating you by squad will be the best way to ensure your health and safety. As we get further into the fall, this regulation may be eased. But, for the time being, we have a plan in place for you to be with your squad exclusively once you set foot on campus.

  3. Daily Covid rhythms:

    1. There will be regular temperature checks throughout the day to make sure you’re staying healthy!

    2. Hand washing stations can be found all around campus and we will expect you to wash your hands frequently each day.

    3. We’ve purchased two Electrostatic sprayers that will clean and sanitize entire rooms which will be a huge help as we all keep our campus clean.

    4. There will be a nurse available to you. We have also sectioned off a facility for any sick participants.

  4. Testing positive for Covid: If someone tests positively for Covid, they will be quarantined at a separate facility on campus. The rest of the squad will quarantine in place on campus. We are currently working with local agencies on rapid testing locations/availability.

  5. Leaving campus: The current state regulations will not allow people to leave the campus without obtaining a negative Covid test upon returning. We expect those regulations to change over the coming months, but, until they do, you will be required to stay on campus. In the event that these do not lift by the time you register, we are working on alternate activities until those regulations ease. However, once you are able to leave, we will expect you to wear a mask when you are unable to socially distance. Make sure to bring a mask with you to camp!

As state regulations change and as we gain more context as a whole, some of these guidelines are subject to change.
