Hey Racer –

Are you ready to do this? We are so excited to meet you next week! Here’s some sweet deets about arrival and registration deets!

Travel Recap & Emergency Contact Info

  • If you’re driving, come to: Adventures in Missions, 6000 Wellspring Trail, Gainesville, GA 30506

    • Arrive between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Make sure you stay in your car as our staff directs you where to go for registration. Don’t forget your mask! If your parents are dropping you off, they will need to stay in their car for the duration of dropping you off, so make sure to say your goodbyes before you come to campus!

    •  If you have a setback (or get lost) during your drive and will be arriving late, call 336-978-6991 and speak to Deborah Ulsh.

  • If you’re flying:

    • When your flight arrives, grab your pack from baggage claim, and then make your way to the lower level of the DOMESTIC TERMINAL, by the Lower North 2 (LN2) doors on the 2nd. An Adventures staff person will be there at 1:30pm to greet you. Whenever your flight lands, head straight to this meeting point by 1:30. Make sure you’re wearing your mask!

    • Directions to Lower North 2 (LN2) doors:

      • Follow signs to baggage claim. (Most of you will have to get on the train to get to baggage claim.)

      • Once you have your bags, you will need to go to the N2 doors located on the non-Delta side of the airport (it should be the blue side). There will be an elevator and escalator between the N2 and N3 doors to take you down to the Lower North 2 doors.

    • If you miss your flight, or your flight gets cancelled or significantly delayed, call 336-978-6991 and speak to Deborah Ulsh.

Reminders and Updates

Dress Code and Packing List

WR Swag: There will be WR Gap Year merchandise for sale that you won’t want to miss!

Squad Wars: Come to registration in your squad colors!

Food Allergies & Preferences:

While we understand our bodies are built differently, the reality of the mission field is that you will rarely have much control over what is available for you to eat. You will be served a variety of dishes overseas, and unless you have a serious food allergy, declining to eat a dish can be seen as offensive.

If you have a food allergy or intolerance listed on your profile in the Medical tab, we will make accommodations for you. However, food is ordered weeks in advance, and if you did not inform us of these needs in advance, you will be expected to eat the food served or make do.

If you are vegetarian: While not all main dishes will involve meat, several will. In these cases we will NOT serve separate vegetarian meals, as food preferences will not be accommodated. Just like on the Race, you will need to make do with what is served.

Coffee Update: Feel free to drop a $5 bill each Monday for your weekly coffee. We’ve decided to provide weekend coffee fo’ free!

*IMPORTANT!*

Beginning September 2nd, you will be fully responsible for any costs incurred on your behalf. This means that, if for any reason, you do not launch with your squad, you will be financially responsible for these costs.

We can’t wait to meet you next week! See ya soon!
