QUICK Recap of Kenya

Sorry this posting is so delayed; good Internet is hard to come by here in Africa. So, I am just going to back it up one month and share with you what it was like…. ENJOY! It's very random, but you will get the idea!

I was in the beautiful Masai Mara! Where the sunrises are breathtaking, and the sunsets are priceless! We were surrounded by LOTS and LOTS of land, where goats, sheep, cows, and donkeys grazed. Our mornings and nights were very Cold, and our days were very Hot! At night we would hear heyennas, and wilderbeast running by!

Ministry was working at a primary school in the village Monday through Friday, I worked in the Primary 2 class with kids ages 7-9 years old.  I assisted the teacher in teaching English, Math, Science, and Christian Education.

On Tuesdays was Market Day, on this day people from surrounding minyattas (villages) would travel to our village to meet, buy and sell cattle and goods, and women would bring there babies to get there vaccinations and see someone if they are ill. I worked in the clinic these days and assisted the nurse in processing patients, handing out medicines, and weighing babies. What busy days these were, we saw over 60 patients that day. LOTS of waiting, CRYING, and FLIES!!!

On some days after teaching we would walk to minyattas and share the gospel and meet people in the community. Some people have heard the gospel, and some have not. It was good to share our stories, and meet men and women in the community. I also met a friend named Sophie.  Every morning at 6am we would go tend to her cattle, I would milk cows and check on the goats.

Every Sunday someone from my team or I would share the message.  We would sing a couple of songs, and just worshiped with members of the church. It consisted of A LOT of dancing and singing. It was a praise workout LITERALLY every Sunday! Also, Friday night we had revival from 9-midnight, well really whenever it was over.
It was a beautiful refreshing month in the Masai Mara.  People were very welcoming and loving towards us. We had to break the mind-set there that we were not tourists, and that we came to serve! It took awhile, but I think into the second week they finally realized it. I did get hit with malaria, but I made it through, stronger then I started. We were the first team to be in that village, and I know God has some amazing things in store for the Masai Mara, and glad I could be a part of building the foundation for generations to come to bring the gospel.
