Water festival
Sobsibi
(hello in Khami)
last weekend was the water festival. Also we celebrated Brookes 1/2 birthday.

I bought he a chicken and a butterfly balloon for her birthday — I got her some other things too but I made her carry them around all day so it was fun.
They had venders and games ( balloon popping game, bucket over the bottles game,
Most interesting thing I have seen so far
– going to the market is always an adventure. The front half of it is all produce and meat, the back half are venders selling clothing, toys jewelry and a plethora of other things. The front half of the market is not for the weak of heart. They have skinned animals, fish still flopping, turtles in little buckets. I saw a woman grab a frog hoping by and chop off its head right there and begin to skin it to sell on her vending matt. That is another thing most people in the market just lay out a mat on the ground and sell their food.
Most of the people here drive a moto bike — like a moped but have a bit more power. The things they manage to put on them is truly amazing. They sometime fit up to four people on them — I saw one lady who had bound about twenty chickens together by their feet and they were handing upside down off the back of the moto bike over each side of the bike like a saddle bag — yup there they were alive and still clucking away strapped to the end of a moto bike. I really wish I had my camera on me at the time.
I just wanted to share a little bit of the life here in Cambodia!
