O Come O Come Emmanuel is my favorite Christmas carol.
I love the name Emmanuel, it means God with us!
“Suddenly a great company of heavily hosts appeared with the angels praising God and saying:
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men, on whom his favor rests.”
Luke 2:13-14
He is with us,
His favor rests upon us!
Think about that and let it soak in.
Don’t just pass by and read it but really let the reality that God IS with you and you ARE favored sink in.
It hurts my head some times thinking about the reality of what exactly Christ did for us. I guess being so far away from home helps me to view what exactly Christ gave up. Not that what I am doing compares to what He gave up. He came and gave up all the spenders of heaven to be with us.
Not only be with us, but to be like us, live like us, to get involved, to get messy!
It is not a question IF God is with you — He is and he proved it!
