This is what you need to know about this month in Romania:

  1. Most people do not smile.
  2. We live in a village with the population of about 250.  There are more chickens and geese than people.
  3. The Romanians have an incredible work ethic.  Most days are 11-13 hour work days.
  4. This is my first time experiencing the Autumn season.
  5. We are working on a property that houses annual Christian camps.  No campers are here, so the majority of what we are doing is manual labor.  I am digging chopping wood!
  6. Romanians love telling jokes that are completely absurd.  Our contact’s favorite character is the aggressive pig.
  7. Our living conditions are very homely.  It’s a welcomed change to the last few months.
  8. This is the first month since team changes so there is plenty of newness between the two teams here.  With that said, we are getting along amazing, as if we were one big team.
  9. There is almost no alone time.  Our schedules are strict and living quarters are compact so finding alone time with God has been a challenge.
  10. Taxi drivers believe they are in Fast and the Furious.
  11. The scenery is breath-taking.  I’m not one for much nature, but living here is changing my mind.

This month has been full of exciting challenges thus far, I’m more excited to see the continued work God is going to do in our lives!
