So “Guat”s going on with our time here in Guatemala?

First off, we traveled about 15 hours from Honduras, through El Salvador, by bus to get to our hostel in Guatemala.  We have been blessed to have a month in our own beds, hot showers, and a semblance of internet in our living quarters.

Our ministry contact, Luis, is pretty hilarious.  He works directly with an organization called Nueva Generacion, designed to go into local schools and teach biblical concepts of being an adult.  Monday through Friday the ministry is teaching 25-30 classes in 8-9 different schools.  Luis is also a professional interpreter.  I love his sense of humor which really reaches the youth he pours into daily.

I am on the teaching team which includes Erin Jackson, Becca Steines, Elizabeth Gonzalez, and Joan Moore.  As a team we are preparing all of our lessons during our time here.  Interesting enough, the lessons we are teaching on for the month are all about sex ed.  HAHA!  You can’t even make this stuff up!

I’m excited to pour myself into the lives of these youth with my teaching team.  We have lots on our plate, but God is going to be glorified in our work for sure!

That’s “Guat”s up!
