God has put His foot in places that He is looking for people to fill and people do everyday. However, when He has His foot somewhere and has asked you to be obedient and fill it, will you have the willingness to do so? Will you be willing to take the step He has desired to consecrate for you? He is always giving us places to set our feet and we obviously have a choice. He wants to bring us to deeper depths of His love and it hurts His heart so much when we choose to do whatever we want. So, do you desire to grow in obedience to the Lord and follow the next steps, no matter how scary the path may seem?

People who desire to put their feet in His place are called His disciples. In every situation and in every opportunity God gives us, we have a choice to glorify Him and share His love with others or to glorify ourselves. God has so much lined-up for our lives; opportunities on top of opportunities. The things He is calling us to are so much more exhilarating than the things we have on our own list of dreams. And, too often, we are so caught-up in what we think we can get on our own that we forget that what God promises is so much better, no matter what it takes to get there.

Last night, I went to a church here in Battambang called the Cambodian Christian Church which is run by a married couple (An American man and a Cambodian woman). They have had two men guest preaching at their church for a little bit from Africa. Able, who preached last night, is from Zimbabwe. Last night was his last night preaching here in Battambang before heading back to his family in Zimbabwe. I am so extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to hear the message that he preached last night. His passion and desire to share what God is teaching him is so beautiful. Last night, I really started to notice the way that I hold back from the steps God is asking me to fill. In every step of my life, I have had so many opportunities to bring people to God, however, I have chosen comfort over boldness and saved lives.

The way Able preached gave me deeper depths of urgency. There is absolutely no viable reason for why I am choosing to glorify myself instead of God at times. He gives me many opportunities to bring people to Himself, but I sometimes miss the point. It isn’t about the daily moments, but about the kingdom mindset of who I am going to take to heaven with me. In the daily moments, I have choices. But when I make these choices, it is extremely important to have a kingdom mindset.

Able was talking about how most people read the Bible and get so inspired by it. They hear the stories about how thousands of people come to believe in Christ and desire to see the same thing in our day and age. We read a lot in Acts about how people prayed and then after praying, they took a step of boldness and put to action the things they were praying for. They went out and taught and, in turn, thousands became obedient to the faith. Do we have hearts that are totally available to God to do whatever, say whatever, and go wherever He calls us to? In that process of being available to God, you bring the church into deeper depths of their own calling.

“A soul winner causes a church to be a soul winning church.”

When Christians have a desire to see people on-fire for God, they will create availability in their life for God to move. They will purposefully go out of their way to take the step that God puts in front of them because they truly understand the work of their Father. They understand that God will bring people to Himself in out-of-the-box ways and has a desire to use His people to do so.

Last night, seeing the extreme passion that Able had for evangelizing sparked something in my soul. He stood in front of an audience of 8 and had the same amount of passion that a preacher would have when standing in front of an audience of thousands. God has something to say no matter how big or small the audience is. Will I have the same passion and excitement for soul winning no matter what my audience looks like? And if not, I better get on my knees and pray for the passion for soul winning because lives do indeed depend on it.

Prayer:

Thank you Lord for people who are truly on-fire for you. I am sorry that I haven’t been as on-fire as I should be. I am so in love with you and want to serve you well, but at times I let my feelings and circumstances be the deciding factor of whether or not I will say yes to what you’re calling me to. Lord, your word is real and it does change lives. And I want to be apart of it wholeheartedly; available and bold.
