I’ve always been intrigued by adventure and seeing the world. As a little kid, I would look up at the sky and see the lines that the jets would create and I would smile and think, “If only I could be on that plane.” God has given me a heart for adventure and an even bigger heart for people. Throughout my years of life, I have seen God continuously show through in my relationships with people and the passion in which I love them and create community with them. On my mission trip to Jamaica, I was able to make great relationships with the wonderful people there. Hopping on the bus, leaving the sweet village with tears in my eyes, I knew God was going to do something with this feeling. And now, look where He has carried me.

To anyone who hasn’t heard yet, I have committed to going on a 9-month mission trip called World Race Gap Year. God has been really working in my heart the past few months while I have been trying to figure out my plans after graduation. Every plan that I tried to create in my head made me bummed and not excited about next year. I was planning to go to a Christian college and figure out my major as I went. I was interested in Film and Photography as well as Worship Ministry and Youth Ministry. Other than that, I was not excited to jump into more school and I really had no sense of clarity.
While looking back on all the passions God has given me, I see where they will all come together while on the World Race. There will be opportunities to document my trip with film and photography, I know that there will for sure be times of worship to God while on this trip, and our world is full of hurting youth in need of love. God took every single passion that I had, every single plan I thought I had, and every last bit of my heart and put them all into a path of His own: The World Race.
If any of you would like to be involved in this next journey of my life, there are many opportunities. You could keep up with my blog posts while I am on the race, you could be constantly praying for the adventure that God is taking my team and I on, and you could help me with fundraising.
God is such a big God and I want my life to be no place else than in His glorious hands.
Thank you for reading! I cannot wait for this adventure with God.
