After lunch the other day, our squad mentor asked my team to meet with her. I thought nothing of it, however, we sat down in the room and every single leader came through the door and sat in the circle. We were all nervous of what they were going to say because we have never had to have a meeting with every single squad leader and team leader before. Anyway, they all walked in and flat out told us that we are going home.
Very funny. God was teaching me so much already in the first (almost) month and now I had to say goodbye to the World Race.
Just kidding! Our leaders all walked in and teased us that they were sending us home, but then they told us the real reason we had to all sit down for a meeting with every single leader.
WE ARE GOING TO THAILAND!
Our squad mentor, Deb, accidentally told my team and all the leaders (except 2) that we were to apply for a 30-day tourist visa. However, the rest of the squad got the right visas. So, as funny as it is, my team asked a while ago if we could take an adventure day to Thailand and now we are going because we “have” to.
Team N’SYNC is hopping on a bus tomorrow morning (Saturday at 10 am) and riding a bus for 6-9 hours. We will arrive in Bangkok, Thailand in the evening and then we spend about 12-20 hours in Thailand before heading back to Battambang. AND THEN, in one week already, we head to Siem Reap for debrief! Time is flying by here… one week until we have already completed month one on the field. The days go by slow at times, but looking back, it has already been ONE month! Eight more to go!!
