Picture this: A young girl who loves Jesus, hands tied to a rope and Jesus holding the rope. The girl honestly desires to serve Him with her life no matter what. She was living life happily among friends, family and work. Then this happens. Jesus asked the young girl to serve as a missionary all over the world in desperate places that need to be changed by His Gospel. As amazing and adventurous that faith sounded like, the young girl forgot her faith and doubted that God could ever use her in those ways. The young girl tried to ignore the call, but still tried to go on with her Christian walk, go to Church, go to bible studies, outreach in her community and be a good hard worker at her job. But the more she tried tugging the rope in the opposite direction then where Jesus was, it hurt and got harder to hold on. Fear of what surrender might look like, Fear of what other Christians would say, Fear of not being enough, Fear of not being able to raise the funds, Fear of being super unqualified, Fear of leaving home, excuses upon excuses. God decided to send complete strangers into this girls life to prophesy over her about missions, He sent people to call her out on her lack of faith and challenge her to put her faith in God. God pursued her in the little things. A song, a fast, a sermon, a prayer, but most importantly through His Word.
In Matthew 19:16-30, Mark 10:17-22 and Luke 18:18-22 Jesus and a Rich Young Ruler have a powerful conversation. The rich young ruler asked Jesus what must he do to inherit eternal life. Jesus said ”You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your Father and Mother and love your neighbor as yourself” The young ruler is excited because he has kept all those since his youth but inquires what he lacks. Jesus responds “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow me.” But the rich young ruler went away from Jesus sad because he had great possessions.
The young girl was immensely overcome by the love of the Father that she put down the rope and ran after Jesus following Him freely, giving it her all, now the only thing she feared was the fear of a wasted life and a wasted eternity away from God. Jesus said “Deny Yourself and take up your cross and follow Me” ,”Go and make disciples of all nations”. And she said Yes.
SO, you may have figured that young girl is me:)
In January 2017 I will be journeying across the globe with the missions organization Adventures in Missions. The World Race is an 11month missions trip to 11 different countries, my team will be going to Mozambique, Swaziland, Madagascar, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Mongolia, China, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. Through the World Race, my team and I will partner with local churches and ministries and serve them by preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, planting churches, working in orphanages and ministering to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking. We will bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many people, tribes and nations.
God has called me to be His hands and feet to people and places far from my home. As the journey will be physically and spiritually challenging, my biggest request and hope from you is prayer. Prayer is Powerful and so is our God!
As I prepare for my departure in January, one of the greatest challenges is financial support. The World Race participants are required to raise financial support. In order to stay on the field and be used for the full 11 months I am responsible to raise $17,000 by January 2017. These funds will cover all my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip. I am excited about the opportunity to partner with others who are willing to invest in what God is doing around the World! As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me at $100 or some other amount?
You can donate online here at the top of the page, hit the donate button that will lead you through the process! (all donations are tax deductible) I am sending out letters with more information about partnering with prayer and finances, if you have Any questions shoot me a message and I’d love to share and answer your questions:)
I will be Blogging about all the experiences in each country and what God is doing! I’m praying and asking God to make me vulnerable and let the Holy Spirit move. You will also have to forgive me on my terible grammar misplaced commas, and sentences that sometimes make no sence and run on.
Recap* Say Yes and Follow Jesus no matter what the cost
Yours In Christ,
